Whilst events vary in their type, size and setting, a combination of ‘must have’ shots are captured to help tell the story of the day or night.
Details
It’s always great to get shots of the table decorations, floral arrangements, signage, sponsors branding or any styling details that helps to make your event unique.
Socials
Quick and painless, it’s always worthwhile getting some standard group or couple shots of guests while they are looking good and enjoying themselves.
Establishing shots
Using a wide angle lens and capturing some images of the space or crowd at your event helps give context to the other photos in your gallery. These shots set the scene and give an overall view of where your event was held.
Candids
Generally every clients main request is to capture lots of candid moments where the guests are having fun, connecting and engaging. Luckily for you, one of my strengths as an event photographer is the ability to anticipate these moments and document them like a photography ninja as I blend into the background unnoticed.
Performers
If your event involves any kind of entertainment or performance I will always be sure to capture some stills of them in action and your guests reactions. Musicians, magicians, face painters, dancers or any type of entertainment that was on offer deserves to be documented.
Food/Drinks
The food and drink photos will vary in importance depending on the event, but if it’s an element you would like captured I am more than happy to do so. Whether it’s the guests enjoyeing a cocktail, share plates or cheese boards, cakes, sweets or the complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival!
